Checklists “keep us in check”. (Duh). Sometimes our brain needs a guide to keep us from going off the rails. Use a list, just as you would when starting any project or even going to the grocery store. The idea is getting us to think, organize and plan. The physical act of finding a pen or pencil and going over the list is another way of maintaining a sense of control over a questionable situation.
