Solutions to Difficult Workplace Relationships

Do Nothing. Communicate. Leave.

When it is time to evaluate your professional options, it comes down once again, to the three potential solutions: do nothing, communicate or leave. Are you willing to fight for yourself in this situation?  While we hope for a win/win, we have no power unless we are willing to risk losing. Giving up a job or career is not to be taken lightly. In addition, when it comes to professional situations, it is usually more important that you be respected.  This means first, identify what you want. Is it a raise? Respect? Feedback? Corner office? Time off? What are your expectations? Are you willing to compromise? Whatever it is, communicate briefly, assertively and directly.
