Fun with Flags to Assess a Romantic Relationship

jodyandrews, July 23, 2024July 23, 2024

I wish the pain of betrayal was as easy to ignore as the red flags
that forewarned of it.
 ―Steve Maraboli

This is a good place to stop and assess your relationship. Be brutally honest. What is working? What is not working? (What about bringing your flag display on dates? Just kidding. Is there an app for this?) Add in more flags as you spend time together. Once you have a good visual, you should begin to see a pattern and can make an informed decision about the future. Fun fact: When you ask someone later, as they are exiting a relationship, they will often admit they saw, but chose to ignore the red flags. Save yourself future heartache. Be on alert for indications of behaviors that are toxic for you– and vigilantly watch for the three R’s – reciprocity of effort, reliability of commitment and respect for values.
